I never imagined that meeting a LinkedIn connection of mine offline would change my views on leadership. I was meeting Ammy Shiflet for a coffee offline, having engaged in many conversations with her on LinkedIn. When we eventually online she said one of the most poignant lessons I've ever learned. Having been a former leader in a Georgia based Company, she shared how much I had changed her view on traditional leadership. That it wasn't about power or hierarchy, and that it was much more about inspiring and influencing people. After that conversation, I realized that I was in fact a leader, a word that for a very long time remained uncomfortable for me, let alone associate myself to. There are many challenges to embarking on your thought leadership journey. But the one that I would absolutely say is essential is starting to see yourself as a leader. And I truly, truly believe that each and every one of us is a leader. 

We have so much to say, so much to give, and so much to share with the world. We all have stories with sharing and people waiting to listen to them. I'm going, to be honest with you. This didn't happen overnight. To really embrace my voice, my vulnerability, and to show up in all my true and raw glory. With grit and a little encouragement, I've trodden this path just so you can, too. The prompts in this course are made to help you dip your toe in the water as and when is comfortable for you. So feel free to dip in and out of it. Our collective thought leadership on this platform is changing the world, I'm sure of it. It's inspiring others and encouraging them to share their voice, too.
